In cloudless airspace that extends from the cornfields of Illinois and blue infinity, a man puts his faith in the propeller of his biplane. Richard Bach, writer and pilot-to, faith is as real as a full tank of gas and sparks that jump from the cylinders ... until he meets Donald Shimoda, a former mechanic who is described as a messiah and is able to make sentences disappear and imagination soar.
My father taught me this book when I was 14 or 15 years, and I think I overestimated a bit: I was too young and I read literally interpreted, so at least I did not I took more than a strange story. It was logical.
Now, at 17, I opened its pages, and read it with more calm, understanding what he meant by each of their stories, and I regret it.
"There is no problem, its magnitude, is unavoidable."
In this book, with an eerie similarity to "The Prince", the protagonist is both aviator and writer of his own story, but as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is a prince from another planet in the desert, Richard finds a Messiah with a single startling message: Do what you want.
"And would you - the Master asked the crowd -
if God spoke directly to the face and I said, 'I command you to AIES
happiness in the world while you are alive'? What would you do then
? ""
book is a shortie, it do not take more than an hour to read, but only after it for the first time, probably you stand the rest of the day thinking of his words, or want to reread a couple of times or, like me, go to the talks that you like and notes on a sheet of paper.
With a little luck might even help, if only slightly, to change the way you see things in life.
- I do not know - answered -. I do not know where to go.
- What does that mean? You know the past and the future of everything. You know exactly where to go!
sighed.
- Yes, but try not to think about it.
In all, a book I recommend to anyone who finds something of interest in philosophy, or simply likes to think about. A beautiful book that makes you think about the reality and ways of seeing, and a very enjoyable and exciting read from beginning to end.
By rating ... Who am I to describe a philosophy book?
And with that, and even thinking I've done a poor job of criticizing this book, I say goodbye.
